262‐224‐7553 | Dear New Teachers,
On behalf of the Teacher Mentoring Committee we would like to welcome you into this great profession! You have made it through your classes and student teaching and now you are ready to enter your own classroom to make a positive impression on students, staff and community. Enclosed is the application for the New Teacher Scholarship to the Wisconsin Association of Agriculture Education (WAAE) Conference.
There are a few things to consider with this application and we ask that you please read through the materials carefully and contact us with any questions that you may have.
The following will be taken into account for the recipients of the scholarship:
- If you are employed and have received a contract from a district, please work with Bridgett Neu, WAAE Executive Director and the school, as the majority of the time they will pay for you to attend the conference. In the event you are hired just before the conference begins, please work with Bridgett to talk with the school about paying for your conference fees.
- The cost of registration will be the first priority to cover for new members of WAAE, hotel cost will come second. You will be asked to share a room as this allows the funds to stretch farther and be used for more recipients.
- Preference will be given to those who will teach in Wisconsin.
- Scholarship applications will be reviewed by the Teacher Mentoring Committee and Executive Director during the State FFA Convention in order to determine recipients.
Please feel free to contact any of us at any time with any questions that you may have about the application, contacting administration or about the conference in general. We understand that things change a great deal in June as to employment and funds. To ensure that we are able to help as many new teachers as possible, please communicate with Bridgett or a committee member to ensure that everyone is on the same page.
Again, thank you for entering the profession! We are excited for you and we are here to help in any way that we can.
Sincerely,
The WAAE Teacher Mentoring Committee |
